How to use this trip expense planner

  1. Set your trip name, total budget and the currency you are planning in.
  2. Add expenses you already know, such as transport or accommodation bookings.
  3. Add estimates for costs you still need to confirm, like meals and activities.
  4. When you pay, enter the actual amount to compare it with your estimate.
  5. Download a CSV backup to open in your spreadsheet app or share with your travel group.

How “budget left” is calculated

For each line item, the planner uses the actual paid amount if you have entered one; otherwise, it uses the estimate. It subtracts the resulting trip total from your budget. A negative amount means the current plan is above the budget you entered, so review the estimates or update your budget. This is a simple organizer, not a destination-price prediction.

Your plan stays in this browser

The planner saves your trip in local browser storage on this device. It does not send your trip name, budget or expenses to Roamwise. Browser data can be lost if site data is cleared or you switch devices, so download the CSV when you want a separate copy. Expense amounts are all kept in the single currency you choose; the planner does not convert individual line items.
