Calculator inputs
Budget, trip length and traveler-count inputs are used in your browser to calculate the result. Roamwise does not store those values on its server. When you open the calculator, your browser requests the available currency options from the Frankfurter API. When you convert between different currencies, it requests the selected currency pair. The service receives those requests and ordinary network information such as your IP address; seeFrankfurter's site for its own information and policies.
Trip planner data
The trip expense planner saves the trip name, budget, currency and expense list in local browser storage on your device. This information is not sent to the Roamwise server. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to view it. Clearing site data removes the saved plan; use the CSV download if you want to keep a separate copy.
Country and holiday data
The destination explorer requests country information and the selected country's latest reported population from theWorld Bank API. The holiday calendar requests its supported-country list and the selected country's holiday dates from theNager.Date API. These requests are made directly by your browser; the services may receive your IP address and ordinary network information. They receive the country and year needed to answer the request, but Roamwise does not receive or store your selection. Neither tool asks for an API key or sends your trip budget, expense list, or packing checklist to these services. Review each provider's site and policies for its own data practices.
Analytics and advertising
Roamwise uses Plausible Analytics to count page views and selected homepage calls to action, such as opening the budget calculator, trip planner, and featured journal article. Event data includes the action and its page placement only; calculator amounts, currencies, traveler counts, and planner data are not included. The Plausible script is served by Plausible and receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address when your browser requests it. Plausible states that it does not use cookies for this analytics service. ReadPlausible's privacy informationfor its data practices. Inactive ad placement containers are reserved in the page structure, but no advertising provider or ad tracking script is loaded.

The budget template is a static file served by this website. Links to external services take you to their own websites, which have separate privacy practices.
